Betty L. Chesser, age 82, of Blue Ridge passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Blue Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care. Betty was born on March 5, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Jerry Lupo and Juanita Tillis Lupo. Betty was an exceptional woman; she lived her life to the fullest. She was a devout Christian, loving mother, an extraordinary grandmother, and a wonderful mother-in-law. For most of her career, Betty was an accountant. However, later in her life Betty owned a successful printing business in Longwood, Florida. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren, Ryan and Emily. Betty would always plan her trips to Blue Ridge to coincide with basketball season to watch her beloved grandkids play. Even though Betty was a native Floridian, she loved the North Georgia mountains and the people of this area. In her pastime, Betty loved playing golf and making quilts. She will be missed by all those who loved her and knew her; we will always remember her through all the lives she touched. Preceding her in death was her parents; and sister, Geraldine Wolfe. Betty is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Roger Beavers of Blue Ridge, GA; son, Dean A. Chesser of Deland, FL; and grandchildren, Ryan Beavers and Emily Beavers, both of Blue Ridge. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by Brian Huffman, Rev. Bob Richardson, Debbie Jones and Danny Beavers. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Danny Beavers, Lee Cox, Ryan Beavers, JC Traylor, Kevin Panter and Austin Panter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 10, 2021 prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
