Mrs. Betty D. Cannaday, age 79, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday May 16, 2010 at her home. Born in New York, NY she was the daughter of the Late William R. and Anna L. Vernimmen Davis. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Cannaday enjoyed working with flowers and plants. One son, Johnny Horne also precedes her in death.Survivors include her husband of thirty six years, Thomas Cannaday of Blue Ridge, GA; sons, William F. Armstrong of Acworth, GA and Robert D. and wife Jan Armstrong of Sandy Springs, GA; daughters, Betty Ann Foster and husband Wayne of Ocean View, VA, Janet Moore and husband Steve of Acworth, GA and Mary Kay Riggs of Blue Ridge, GA; step son, Billy Cannaday of Jacksonville, FL; step daughters, Renee Talley of Suffolk, VA and Alisha Hucks of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Michael Greathouse, Eric Riggs, Nick Pasano, Richie Allen, Angela Palmer, Katie Swan, Stephanie Armstrong, Robbie Armstrong, Chris Armstrong, and Joey Pagano, and Bill Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Emma Palmer, Elliot Palmer, Austin Pagano, and Anna Palmer and Abbey and Lilly Riggs.Memorial services were conducted on Saturday May 22, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Dalton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org.
