Betty Thomas Anderson, age 85 of Blue Ridge GA passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Erlanger Medical Center. She was born on August 14, 1931 in Blue Ridge to the late William Joshua Thomas and Willia Griffin Thomas. Betty and her late husband Andy Anderson owned and operated Andys Jewelers in Blue Ridge and Ellijay since 1949. She was woman of elegance and class. Betty was a member, choir member, taught Sunday School classes for children and pre-teens and was very active at the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Merry Makers. Betty was one of twelve very loving siblings and was the nucleus of the family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Anderson and siblings, Ruth Logan, Dotty Boston, Bill Thomas, Harold Thomas, Jo Ann Parks and Linda Thomas. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Goss (Jim) of Duluth, GA; son, Jeffrey Scott Anderson of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Keith Anderson (Johni) of Athens, GA; brothers, Jack Thomas of Tampa, FL, Bob Thomas of Ellijay, GA and Eddie Thomas of Ellijay, GA; sisters, Sherry Mathis of Blue Ridge, GA and Carole Lacy of Blue Ridge, GA; grandsons, Josh Anderson, Drew Anderson (Carrie), David Anderson, Wes Anderson; granddaughter, Ali Quine (Mike); great-grandson, Alex Anderson and great-granddaughter, Leia Anderson also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel of Blue Ridge with Rev. Harold Willis officiating. Music was by the Rev. Dr. William J. Thomas III. Pianist was Ellen Ottinger. Pallbearers were the nephews. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park.
