Bettie Sue Bell , age 88 of Blue Ridge, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Fannin Regional Hospital. She was born on December 26, 1930 in Blue Ridge to the late Curtis Deaton and Lula Bell Caldwell and was the last of eleven children. Bettie Sue retired from the Fannin County Sheriff's Department as a office assistant after fourteen years of service under Hobert Henson. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and have everyone over to eat and also enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Francis Everett Bell; and sons, Boe Deaton and Larry Bell. She is survived by her children, Rickey (Evelyn) Bell of Canton, GA; Suzette Johnston and Tina Moore of Blue Ridge, GA; Gary (Mary) Bell of Gaffney, SC; Sharon (Jim) McCoy of Duluth, GA; Pamela Deadwyler of Clinton, SC; Kay (Gary) Allen of Alma, GA; and Jodi Britt of Orlando, FL; Fifteen grandchildren, Tyler Moore and Kristen Bell of Blue Ridge, GA; Numerous great grandchildren and special friend Roy Conner also survive. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Gary Bell officiating. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tyler Moore, Lonnie Moore, Roy Conner, Martin Bell, Larry Deaton and Leroy Humphreys.
