The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Bertha Mae Huffman Dunn, age 92, of McCaysville, GA who passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in the Copper Basin Medical Center in Ducktown, TN. Born in Fannin County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Huffman and Martha Thomas Huffman. She was the oldest living member of Mt. Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Dunn; and a son, Gene Jackson Dunn. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James and Peggy Dunn of Greenville, GA and Bill and Tina Dunn of Augusta, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Martha and James Thomas of Douglasville, GA and Barbara Mullis of McCaysville, GA; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Trudy Dunn; sister, Catherine Payne of McCaysville, GA; 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Phillips and Rev. Robbie Chastain officiating. Music will be by Kenny O'Neal and the Mt. Liberty Church Choir. Pallbearers will be Junior Huffman, Larry Payne, Ed Cantrell, Jason Payne, Lynn Payne, and James Rymer. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Payne, Clyde O'Neal, and Jackie Huffman. Interment will follow in the Mt. Liberty Church Cemetery. For those desiring, donations in memory of Mrs. Dunn may be made to the Mt. Liberty Cemetery Fund.
