Mrs. Bernice Stanley Brawley, age 84 of Blue Ridge passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 in the Gold City Convalescent Center in Dahlonega, GA. She was a native of Fannin County. Mrs. Brawley was born on September 20, 1923 to the late Ulysses Lish and Rosa Lee Forrester Stanley. She was a housewife and a member of the Dial Church of Christ. Mrs. Brawley was preceded in death by her husband, Lon Brawley. Survivors include daughter-in-law, Ina Brawley of Morganton, GA; two grandchildren, Ricky Brawley of Blue Ridge, GA and Barbara and husband Jay Cearley of Statesville, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tommy Kyle officiating. Interment followed in the Brawley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Terry Stanley, David Stanley, Keith Hunter, Roger Prather, Eldon Brawley, and Ricky Brawley. Condolences may be sent to the Brawley family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
