Mrs. Bernetta Key Trammell, age 88, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. She was born the fifth child to Martin and Denia Key on April 12, 1930. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Rev. It was at that time she began volunteering to deliver 'Meals on Wheels' and continued to do so for 21 years. Volunteering filled her heart with joy as she served others. She travelled extensively visiting grandchildren and other family members. She enjoyed her garden and providing family and friends with vegetables. Her yard was always immaculate. Her flowers were her joy. She enjoyed attending revivals throughout the area, many times taking along friends, young and old. She made new friends everywhere she went. She greeted everyone with her beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes. Bernetta is survived by three children, Joyce (Dennis) Dillinger, William Melvin (Donna) Trammell, and Marcia (Gary) Cochran. She had twelve grandchildren. Joyce's children are Donna (Bill) Bogardus, Cindy (Cole) Howe, and Michael (Tifanni) Watkins; Melvin's children are Casey (Cristi) Trammell, Nick (Erica) Trammell, and Sam Trammell, and Marcia's children are Eric (Dawn) Cochran, Tracy (Christina) Cochran, and Greg (Lynn) Cochran. She had twenty-three great-grandchildren and another on the way and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Diane (Johnny) Pinson; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Trammell (Richard) Tata.
