Beatrice Hazel Deal, age 86, of Morganton, GA passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 in the Copper Basin Medical Center in Copperhill, TN. Mrs. Deal was born on June 4, 1923 in Fannin County, GA to the late James William and Myrtle Elizabeth Roper Ray. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Deal was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert (Buddy) Ray, Jay Ray and Hoyt Ray. Survivors include three sisters, Joann Oliver of Morganton, GA, Dorothy Bolon of Palmetta, FL and Dell Brooks of Copperhill, TN; brother, Doug Ray of Copperhill, TN; special nephew, Charles McWorter of Dalton, GA also survives. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Miller officiating. Music was by Calla Mae Miller. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Hunter, Charles McWorter, Robert German, Keith Brooks, Lucas Lindner and Floyd Roper. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
