Mr. Barry David Messer, age 55, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Sunday October 25, 2009. Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late William and Ruby Bell Messer. Mr. Messer had driven a mail truck for Davenport Transport for a number of years. He had a passion for car collecting and loved fishing. Survivors include his wife, Mona B. Messer of Blue Ridge, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry Lee and Sara Garner of Stockbridge, GA and Joseph Barren Messer of Okinawa, Japan; daughters, Valerie Marie Messer of Blue Ridge, GA and Sara Beth Messer both of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Billy, Richard, Buck, Benny, and Danny Messer all of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Brenda Minick of Eastman, GA, Deborah Gravely of Morganton, GA, and Teresa Clore of Blue Ridge, GA; four grandchildren, Gage Xavier Garner, Samira Lee Garner, Alexander Kadin Garner, and Kamryn Lici Garner. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday October 29, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Hicks officiating.
