The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Barbara Dianne Porter, age 52, of Blue Ridge, GA, who passed away Wednesday, January 27, at her home. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at a local textile manufacturer. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Ruben Porter.She is survived by her mother, Mary Panter Green of Blue Ridge, GA; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Charles Payne of Chatsworth, GA; one brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Rhonda Green of Blue Ridge, GA; a special friend, Sandy Ensley of Blue Ridge, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.Memorial service will be at Akins Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM Friday, January 29, with Rev. Ernest German and Rev. Daniel Postell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, January 29. Donations to help defray final expenses may be made to the family.
