Mrs. Barbara Jean Johnson, age 85, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at her home. She was born December 3, 1930 to the late Thomas Clark and Othella Smith Boling. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Boggess. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Bill A. Johnson and grandson, Jeremy Donald Garren. Survivors are her sons, William Scott Johnson of Canton, Steve Douglas Johnson and wife, Tonya of Sacramento, CA, and Christopher Lynn Johnson and wife Dena of Mineral Bluff; daughter, Cindy Jean Johnson Garren and husband Jerry of Morganton; brother, Jimmy Boling; grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Heather Lorie Garren, Stephen Scott Johnson, Mason Bundy, and Madison Bundy; and great-grandchildren Logan Escarcega, Nathan Johnson, and Emily Grace Ituen.Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel of Blue Ridge. Rev. Max Curtis and Rev. Paul Adams will officiate. Music will be provided by the Caylor Family, Jan Howard, and Katie Roberson. A graveside service will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Garren officiating. Pallbearers will be Ricky Thomas, Jerry Falls, Luke Adams, Robbie Mathis, Sir John Davis and Rusty Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Nicholson, Jim Falls, Randall Davis, Michael Ray, Ben Alewel, Junior Kyle, Mason Bundy, and David Falls.
