Barbara Beaver, age 86 of McCaysville, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 after a brief illness. Barbara married the late Kenneth Beaver in 1960, and they lived together in McCaysville and Riverdale, GA for 38 years. She returned to McCaysville following Kenneths death in 1998. She attended the First Baptist Church of Epworth. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tammy Griffith and son-in-law, Douglas Griffith of Kennesaw, GA. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Ashley Montford of Kennesaw, GA and brother, Thomas Jerry Hyde of Copperhill, TN. Barbara was a dedicated travel agent and enjoyed planning trips for her clients. Being a travel agent afforded her the opportunity to travel the world. After her return to McCaysville, she enjoyed performing her civic duties by volunteering to work at the polls on Election Days. Barbara also enjoyed attending senior dances, performing with bluegrass bands playing the upright bass, and spending time with family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Barnes Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, April 26, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to American Stroke Association, P.O.
