Mrs. Azalie Louise Reeves Rollins, age 88, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge. Mrs. Rollins was born in Leesville, Louisiana on August 15, 1920 to the late Arthur Reeves and Mertie Mae Boyett Reeves. She worked as a medical records transcriber. Mrs. Rollins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge and a member of the Women's Missionary Union at the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Ulvin Milam Rollins.She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Georgia Mae and Ron Gibson of Hilltop Lakes, TX and Nelda Faye and Steve Bailey of Blue Ridge; brothers, Tommy Reeves of LA and Henry Reeves of Olive Branch, Mississippi; sisters, Etta Dunn of Lake Charles, LA, Mattie Reeves of Ragley, LA, Ollie Belle Wilson of Ragley, LA, and Anna Lou Miller of Reeves, LA; three grandchildren, Jefferson (Donna) Porter, Stephen Todd (Aleksandra) Bailey, and Christopher M. (Margaret) Bailey; nine great grandchildren, Eric Porter, Jessica Porter, Charlie Porter, Sarah Porter, Catherine Bailey, Stephen Bailey, Isabella Bailey, Emma Bailey, and Elaina Bailey; and one great great grandchild, Alyssa Porter.Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge with Rev. Charlie Howell and Rev. Elven Hensley officiating. Music was by Imogene Stewart. Pallbearers were Stephen Todd Bailey, Jefferson Porter, Christopher Bailey, Joe Pack, Jim Ezell, Ken Wood, Ben Turner, and Scott Gasparini. Honorary pallbearers were be Hugh Gibson, Howard Tilley, Bill Dunn, Bill Huff, Jerry Gordon, Clyde Fortner, John Cochran, George Arnold, Roy Panter, Bob Milam, and Don Hall. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park. Donations in memory of Mrs. Rollins may be made to the Fannin Christian Learning Center 2324 East 1st Street Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
