Mrs. Avia Marie (Newberry) Hubbard, age 90, of Copperhill, Tenn., died Friday, February 29, 2008, at the Copper Basin Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of the Copper Basin, daughter of the late George Alvin Newberry and Minerva Elizabeth Weaver Newberry. Mrs. Hubbard was the wife of the late Clarence Hoyt Hubbard. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was survived by three daughters, Judy (Hubbard) Bowden of Riverdale, Ga., Joyce (Hubbard) Haren of Palmetto, Ga., and Cathy (Hubbard) Panther of Postell, Tenn., two sons, Max Hubbard of Copperhill, Tn., and Ray Hubbard of Snellville, Ga., eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral service was at Akins Chapel at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 2, with Rev. Jimmy Cheatham officiating. Music was by Raven Welch and Becky Alexander. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian, Daryl, Jason and Patrick Hubbard, Michael Haren and Zakary Clepper. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
