Austin "Bubba" Nathaniel Lee Rhodes, age 26, of Copperhill, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Blue Ridge. He was born on November 17, 1995, in Blue Ridge. Bubba was a loving father and uncle. He was a free spirit that brightened everyone's day he came across. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and motorcycles, mudding, and hanging out with his friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Arp, Jerry Rhodes, Oscar Cross, and Sue Dillard; and niece, Kyla Ann Rhodes. Bubba is survived by his son, Dominic Rhodes; father, William Lee Rhodes; mother, Rebecca Sue Dillard Rhodes; siblings, Danielle (Christopher) Crowder, Dylan Rhodes, and Liam Rhodes; grandmothers, Joann Arp and Cathy Cross; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Sue Crowder, Sawyer Rhodes, and Jon Crowder; aunts and uncles, Hank and Michelle Hayes, Troy Dillard, Theda and Michael Whitaker, and Rex Cole; and numerous other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 4:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Reid officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Reid. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Crowder, Robbie Stiles, McKinley Townsend, Brandon Howe, Cody Dillard, and Steven Dillard. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defray final expenses.
