Aubrey VanOrsdal, age 102, of Cherry Log, GA, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in Blairsville, GA. She was born on November 4, 1919, in Gadsden, AL. She was of the Catholic faith. Aubrey worked for many years as a Registered Nurse at Union General Hospital. She worked primarily in Maternity and Medical/Surgical Units and worked alongside generations of doctors and nurses. She was preceded in death by her parents, John William Pierce and Leila Maude Foster Tucker; husband, Ira VanOrsdal; children, David Michael VanOrsdal and Rita Katherine VanOrsdal; and three siblings, James D. Pierce, Gladys Tucker Brown, and Earl Tucker. Aubrey is survived by her children, Mary Claire VanOrsdal and Richard (Linda) VanOrsdal; granddaughter, Jennifer Claire (Brian) Bitting; and great-grandson, William Troy Bitting.
