Mrs. Artie Lucille Deal, age 91, of Copperhill, TN passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Deal was born in Polk County, TN on October 18, 1920 to the late James E. and Nora Louise Miolen Carpenter. She had worked in textiles as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Deal was a member of Copperhill Church of God but attended Mount Zion Baptist Church (Tumbling Creek). She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Woodrow Deal; daughter, Margaret Jean Jones and son, Charles Edward Deal.Survivors include son, James Elvin Deal of Copperhill, TN; daughters, Sue and husband, William Lock of Copperhill, TN and Wanda Louise Moreau of Copperhill, TN; eight grndchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren also survive.Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. from Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Roger Hyatt officiating. Music was by Sue Stillwell, Amy Allen, Ashley Head, Felicia Deal and Larry Moreau. Pallbearers were Donald Jones, Rodney Wimpy, Chris Wimpy, Scott Verner, Eddie Verner and Matthew Deal. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Moreau and Tommy Jones. Interment followed in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (Tumbling Creek). Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
