Arnold Gnatt Williams, age 75, of Morganton, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at his home. Born on March 10, 1943 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of Roy James Williams and Louise Alice Ramey Williams. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors where he had worked as a Pipe Fitter. He is preceded in death by parents, Roy James and Louise Alice Williams; sisters, Lenora Williams and Sue Elizabeth Mortimer; daughters, Debra Williams and Jenece Lee Baker; son, James Harold Williams; and grandson, Lonnie Lee Williams.He is survived by his wife, Martha Poss Williams of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, David Arnold and Michele Williams of Gainesville and Fred Lindsey and Tina Williams of Morganton; daughter-in-law, Linda Williams of Gainesville; eleven grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Thomas Williams of Woodstock; and very special friends, Kay Taylor, Ivette Hernandez, and Pat and Mike Snow. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, September 10, 2018 from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Hughes, Pastor John Rayburn, and Pastor Alan Walker officiating.
