Mrs. Ann Payne Powell, age 94, of Dalton, GA passed away July 31, 2016. Born in Adairsville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Ola Herndon Payne. Mrs. Powell loved reading and enjoyed animals. She also loved growing wildflowers and canning the vegetables grown by her late husband, Winfred Powell. She had worked for a number of years for Coronet Industries in payroll services and was a long time member of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ. Annette was the last of twelve siblings and her son, Frank Powell, also precedes her in death.Survivors include two grandchildren and their spouses, Kip and Cathy Powell and Shannon and Tim Britton; and four great grandchildren, Tyler Britton, Clay Britton, Elizabeth Powell and Sydney Powell.Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Terry Stuart officiating. Music was by David Chapman. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
