Ann S. Landrum, 61, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Ann was born on July 28, 1948 in Ducktown, TN to the late James S. (Peebie) Spargo and Jimmie Lee Snow Spargo. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Gail Spargo Barkley. A lifelong lover of knowledge, Ann enjoyed history, archaeology, reading and great conversation. She was almost fluent in French, never met a crossword puzzle she couldn't conquer, and was the best cookie maker ever. She was a repository of knowledge, and was often called upon to resolve arguments about trivia among her daughter's friends. She loved music, from the Beatles to Metallica and everything in between, and played the piano. She was known for her kindness, honesty, loyalty, fantastic sense of humor, and love of chocolate. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Landrum of Copperhill, brother, John Spargo of Copperhill, nephews Stephen and Philip Spargo of Copperhill and Todd Barkley of Columbia, SC, niece Kerry Barkley Richardson of Columbia, SC, and a host of other relatives and friends. She also leaves behind her cherished pets, including her special cat, Mr. Hampley. The family will receive friends at the Akins of Funeral of Copperhill on Saturday, December 26, 2009 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
