Anita Anderson Matthews (Ms. Nita), age 89, was born January 27, 1935 in Patterson, NJ and passed peacefully into paradise in the early hours of February 26, 2024 at Copper Basin Health and Rehabilitation in Ducktown, TN. She was proceeded in death by her parents Horatio Edward Anderson and Martha Jones Anderson, her husband, Clinton Creed Matthews and her sister Martha (Marty) Alice Anderson. Ms. Nita was a life long Methodist, loved gospel music and sang alto in the choir.

Everyone who knew her loved her for her sweetness, kindness and gentle manners.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Renee (Charlie) Lunney, Melinda and Reba Matthews along with 2 grandchildren, Larry and Matthew Nichols as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held at Magnolia Springs cemetery in Hurley, MS on March 18, 2024 at 11:30. All are welcome.
