Services for Mr. Andrew Johnson Cross, also known by his friends and family as AJ or Andy, age 93, will be on June 27 at 1: 00pm at Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown, TN. The North Georgia Honor Guard will be conducting the service.Mr. Cross passed away on June 5 at his daughter's residence.He is survived by his children, Connie Beaver (James Clark), Linda Kay Austin, Ebba Stymus (Walter); 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy L. Cross-Clark and Louise Cross-Goldson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.Mr. Cross is preceded in death by his wife, Onibee Hedden Cross; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Mr. Cross was an American Hero. He landed on Utah Beach during WWII where he fought for 8 days before being shot and wounded. He was awarded a Purple Heart after his brave service. Mr. Cross loved to make people laugh and was known as a joker. He enjoyed working in his garden and canning. He was an outdoors man who spent his time hunting and fishing. Mr. Cross was a one of a kind man. He loved his family and was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.
