Amy Renee Walker Elrod, age 42, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born in Somerset, KY, on September 1, 1978. Amy was a member of the Mineral Bluff House of Prayer. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, GiGi, and friend. Amy devoted her life to her children, granddaughter, and family. She would do anything for anyone and wanted to make sure everyone was included and taken care of. Amy made sure everyone felt loved. She was the most selfless, caring, and compassionate person. She wanted everyone around her to have everything they wanted and to be happy. She loved to read, sing, and do arts and crafts. Amy is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Walker; maternal grandparents, Charley and Fay Phelps; step-father, Mike Plumley; niece, Jaylen Watkins; and father-in-law, Bobby Elrod. Amy is survived by her husband, Brian Elrod; children, Alexis Walker Long and her husband, Cody, Devin Elrod, and Ambria Elrod; granddaughter, Addyson Renee Walker; father and step-mother, John and Ginger Walker; mother and step-father, Barbara P. and Butch DeLoach; siblings, Wendy Walker, Adam (Magan) Walker, Tracy (Steven) Watkins; step-siblings, Joe DeLoach, Chris (Alicia) Miller, Misha (Yancey) Winkler, and Jennifer Gibson; sister-in-law, Rose Elrod; brother-in-law, Chris (Kristy) Elrod; mother-in-law, Patricia Ann Queen; nieces and nephews, Kaylee (Parker) Brown, Keelah Twiggs, Kaeden Twiggs, Isaiah Angel, Lucas Angel, Olivia Angel, Savannah Magallanes, Emily Walker, Joselyn Wood, Judah Wood, Israel Wood, Zion Wood, Destiny Watkins, Kiersten Twiggs, Taylor Watkins, Kierah Gibson, Madie Gibson, Austin Gibson, Whitney Winkler, Haley Winkler, Hope Elrod, Joseph Elrod, John Elrod, Aiden Cruse, Vanessa Miller, Bailey Miller, and Autumn Miller; honorary children, Jeb Walker (Bridget Whitson) and son, Barrett Walker; Wesley Walker; and Abigail (Arthur) Nix and children, Dylen Nix, Anna Nix, Hunter Nix, and Brooklyn Nix. Amy also had numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, whom she loved very much. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 24, 2021 from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Reid officiating. Interment followed in the Walker Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeb Walker, Wesley Walker, William Barnes, Cody Long, Kaeden Twiggs, Arthur Nix, Isaiah Angel, and Kris Green.
