Mrs. Amelia Montene Thomas Pittman, age 76, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2009 at her home. She was born in Fannin County, GA on April 26, 1933 to the late Clyde Thomas and Dorothy Gilliam Thomas. Mrs. Pittman worked for Tennessee Copper Company in the Bookkeeping and Accounts Receivable department. She was a beloved member and faithful servant to Salem Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener, supported high school sports, and was secretary at West Fannin High School for a number of years. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Bill "Bullet" Pittman of Mineral Bluff; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Beverly Pittman of Mineral Bluff and Terry and Tracy Pittman of Mineral Bluff; daughter, Sharon Gilreath of Fannin County; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Joyce Thomas of Epworth and Don and Barbara Thomas of McCaysville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Mae and Powell Hoover of Epworth, Ramona and Ralph Seabolt of McCaysville and Doris and Ronnie Hartness of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Bill Pittman, Matthew Oliver, Timothy Evans, Daphne Long, Heather Gravely, Cherish Evans, Lucas Lindner, and Lewis Evans; and great grandchildren, Chance Pittman, Clayton Gravely, Ethan Long, Lexi Gravely, Tyler Gravely, and Noah Oliver. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. John Kilpatrick, Rev. Kenneth Mann, and Rev. Bill Pittman officiating. Music was by Krystie Daves and Kerrie Touchstone and The Caylor Family. Pallbearers were Bill Pittman, Doug Heaton, A.C. Caylor, Dale Kaylor, Jeff Kaylor, and Frank Bowles. Honorary pallbearers were the grandchildren. Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfunerahome.com.
