Alpha "Sue" Jewel DeGreef, age 74, of Ellijay, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Ellijay, GA. She was born on February 27, 1944 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Alfred and Verlie Gollihue. Among many other professions, she worked as a CNA for many years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother; Phillip Gollihue, and sisters; Louise Sellers and Phyliss Gollihue.She is survived by her children; Roger DeGreef of Blue Ridge, GA, Thomas DeGreef of Naples, FL, and Michelle (John) Zarnick of Ellijay, GA; a brother, Michael Gollihue of Grayson, KY; grandchildren, Michael, Krystal, Jason, Johnny, Mishawna, and Nicole; great grandchildren, Tyler, Mikey, Izabella, Daxton, and Azura; and a faithful K-9 companion, "Gizzy" Gizmo.The family received friends at Akins Funeral Home (7871 Blue Ridge Drive Blue Ridge, GA) on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
