Obituary

Allie Mae Monteith, age 89, of McCaysville, GA passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Allie was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late Hershell & Rose Ella Gaddis Cearley. She was a homemaker and a member of the Salem Baptist Church. Survivors included three sons, W.L. Monteith of McCaysville, GA, Roy Monteith of Tampa, FL, Bill Monteith of Copperhill, TN; three daughters, Dot Bigham of Turtletown, TN, Doris Housley of Copperhill, TN, Diane Gilmore of Tyrone, GA; two brothers, Marshall Cearley of McCaysville, GA, Marvin Cearley of Sharon, S.C.; fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted Friday, April 4th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. E.L. Addis and Rev. Chris Taylor officiating. Music was by Valerie Taylor. Pallbearers included Glen Bigham, Kim Bigham, John Housley, Chris Jackson and Rick Tallent. Honorary pallbearers included Dr. Mahmood Siddiqui and staff and the staff of the Copper Basin Medical Center. Interment followed in the Crestlawn cemetery.
