Mr. Allen Ross McDonald, age 61, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Mr. McDonald was born on August 24, 1949 in Cherokee County, NC to the late Leonard McDonald and Flora Allmon McDonald. He worked as a machine operator for Carriage Carpet Mill. He was a member of the Sold Rock Apostolic Light House Church. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam.He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Smith McDonald of Blue Ridge; daughter, Karen McDonald of Calhoun, GA; stepdaughters, Anita Koren of White, GA and Brenda Angel of Calhoun, GA; sisters, Imolene Johnson of Murphy, NC and Juanita Hinton of Murphy, NC; two granddaughters, Cassandra McDonald and Ashley Holt; two great grandchildren, Adain and Angel; and five step-grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Mike Jarrett and Rev. Jeremiah Jarrett officiating. Music was by Becky Millsaps. Pallbearers were Joseph Ward, Brian Stratton, Timmy Stratton, and Ronnie Jarrett. Honorary pallbearer was Tommy Ward. Military Honors were by North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment followed Greenlawn Cemetery in Murphy, NC. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
