Agnes Pappas Pless of Atlanta, GA and later of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on September 3, 2008. She is predeceased by her husband James Monroe Pless. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Pless Bagby and two grandchildren, Britton Bagby Wren (husband Anderson M. Wren) and H. Clay Bagby IV (wife Christy Clark Bagby). She had six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Pappas (wife Barbara Pappas) and sister Angelina Gagliardi. She was the owner/operator of Chestnut Hill Day Nursery in Riverdale, GA for 33 years. Her mission in life was to teach, love, and care for children of all ages. She was commended by the Fulton County School System in the early 1980's for her kindergarten student's accelerated reading skills and social adjustment into first grade. Her Greek heritage was important to her and she was able to make several trips to her family's home including a trip with her daughter and grandchildren. She continued to support the Greek Orthodox Church in Atlanta up until her death. Visitation and Memorial Service was held at Akins Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, GA on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively. Donations will be accepted in her honor at Georgia Mountain Hospice; P.O. Box 580; Japer, GA 30143 or at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation; 2500 Clairmont Road NE; Atlanta, GA 30329. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
