Mrs. Adel Burk, age 70 of Ritchie Creek Rd., Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Burk was born in Fannin County, GA on December 15, 1939 to the late Thomas and Rachael Sally Patterson Norton. She retired from Levi Strauss Company after twenty five years of service. She was a very active member of Lebanon Baptist Church where she served as a leader for Acteens and Gas for many years. Mrs. Burk was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Renee Burk who passed away in 1970 and a brother A.J. Norton. She is survived by her husband Johnny "J.H." Burk of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Randy Watkins of Blue Ridge; sisters, Audrey Ritchie of Blue Ridge, Ann L. Higdon of Kennesaw, GA, and Tomma Sue Sanford of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Dawn Cochran and spouse Eric, John Acuff and spouse Christy, Dewayne Watkins, and Jeremy Watkins; great grandchildren, Jordon Cochran, Colton Cochran, Sydnie Cochran, Kloee Cochran, Dawson Acuff, Madison Watkins, and Tate Watkins. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Lebanon Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Stover and Rev. Randy Hooper officiating. Music was by Missy Hooper and Shannon Reinecke. Pallbearers were Bill Ritchie, Frank T. Burk, Joe Burk, Franklin Burk, Drannon Higdon, and Billy Brooks. Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Mathis, Wesley Jones, Joey Coffey, and Sam Brooks and Wesley Seabolt. Interment followed in Mobile Cemetery.
