Mrs. Ada Nell Johnson, age 73, of Morganton passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at her home. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Lawson Bradburn and Zillie Teague Bradburn. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter Wanda Geraldine Tipton and grandsons, Brandon James Sutton and Daniel Adam Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, A.B. Norman Johnson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Lee and Kathy Johnson of Morganton, Johnny Glynn Johnson of Morganton, Troy James and Vanessa Johnson of Morganton, and Michael Randy Johnson of Morganton; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Ann Johnson Tipton and J.L. Tipton of Morganton, Judy Marlene Stanley and David Stanley of Morganton; sisters, Mary Stewart of Murphy, NC, Alene Lowe of Blue Ridge, and Shirley Bradburn of Blue Ridge; 14 grandchildren, Jamie Tipton, Adrian Tipton, Robert Tipton, Jonathan Johnson, Amanda Tipton, Roxanne Johnson, Shane Tipton, Lionel Johnson, Justin Johnson, J.R. Sutton, Chris Johnson, Amy Johnson, Chuck Stanley, and Carey Brock; and 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas Stanley, Lexie Stanley, Bailee Stanley, and Addison Walden. Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Phillip Thomas and Rev. Larry Welch officiating. Music was by Rev. Phillip Thomas and Junior Sutton. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Jonathan Johnson, Lionel Johnson, Chris Johnson, Justin Johnson, Shane Tipton, and Jamie Tipton. Interment followed in Harmony Church Cemetery. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
